Mindfulness and Meditation

In terms of health, just some of the benefits include

Greatly improved overall health and well-being;   relaxation; reduced stress, anxiety and worry; stronger immune system; greater energy; improved sleep; lower blood pressure; improved memory; attention and learning ability; improved communication skills; anti-ageing; weight management; greater self esteem and overall personal awareness and happiness.

I offer courses which can be held 1-1 or in small groups of up to 8 people. A beginners course, based on the Mindfullness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training lasts for six weeks.

Meditation can help produce antibodies against illness and also lift your spirits. Researchers say biological effects seen in the study are long lasting – up to four months after the end of meditation training.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a process that cultivates present moment awareness where you learn to become more aware of yourself, your environment and those around you. Becoming more aware of our thoughts and emotions gives us the opportunity to engage with them in a different way; In following and learning this process you are able to become more skillful in dealing with life’s challenges (be they physical, mental or emotional) and have the opportunity to change old patterns of behaviour.

The Meditation Foundation is a Department of Health supported Social Enterprise offering simple, modern, evidence-based, non-religious Meditation.

I am certified with the Meditation Foundation and over the years have also experienced many other forms of meditation practice.  We are all different and we all learn differently, for this reason the simple techniques that are offered within this course are ones which anyone can learn and which will empower you to improve your own health and well being.  Meditation can bring enormous benefit to our lives in so many ways. The benefits are endless; just click on any of the links to the right of the page to  read more about the evidence provided, or better still enrol on a course today, no previous experience is required.
